What you should know about standards

European standards are crucial for ensuring consistent quality, safety, and efficiency across products, services, and processes. While adhering to these standards is voluntary, complying with them is highly recommended as they are developed collaboratively by experts to meet the needs of businesses and consumers. They play an important role in supporting innovation and facilitating compliance to international regulations. Just think about this: when a European Standard is published, it supersedes any conflicting national standards, ensuring uniformity across the 34 member countries!

CEN and CENELEC, alongside ETSI, are among the three officially recognized European Standardization Organizations. They collaborate to develop and implement essential technical standards for the European market

Rhite's Contribution to AI Standards

The rapid expansion of AI in critical sectors has created an urgent need for clear standards on the development, applications, and use of AI. To address these challenges, CEN and CENELEC’s Joint Technical Committee 21 (JTC 21) on Artificial Intelligence is working to develop standards that will guide a safe and ethical use of AI in Europe, ensuring that AI systems align with European values and regulations such as the AI Act. Rhite actively contributes to the development of standards in the fields of AI Risk Management, Cybersecurity, and Trustworthiness. As a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), we bring a unique perspective to the standardization process, ensuring that these guidelines address the practical needs of businesses like us.
