Isabel Barberá
Isabel Barberá, Co-Founder of Rhite, is a leading authority in the field of AI. With a background in computational linguistics and law, and over 20 years of experience in software development, big data, cybersecurity, and privacy, she offers a unique blend of technical and legal expertise. As an Expert Advisor for various European Institutions, Isabel plays an important role in shaping the AI regulatory landscape.
Besides her roles as co-founder, Senior AI Advisor for multiple clients and mentor to start-ups, she is a member of the Support Pool of Experts of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), where she contributes with her expertise to AI and data protection projects. Isabel is also member of the Data Protection Engineering Working Group of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), where she advises on data protection by design in AI systems.
She is also contributing to the development of European AI technical Standards at CEN/CENELEC collaborating with other experts, the AI Office and the European Commission on the creation of standards for AI Risk Management, AI Cybersecurity and AI Trustworthiness.
Among her recent projects, Isabel has served as Senior AI Policy Advisor for the Dutch Ministry of Interior, providing strategic guidance on AI governance and contributing to the development of a framework for responsible AI. She is also the author of Plot4AI, a practical, open-source and internationally recognised methodology for identifying AI risks effectively.
As a prominent speaker, Isabel has shared her expertise at major events, including the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Annual Summit in India and the OECD Expert Workshop on PETs and AI in United Kingdom.
